What a great Italian restaurant find in Oakbrook. This family-owned restaurant opened during the height of the pandemic in 2020. And it has become a premier Italian restaurant in the suburbs. The food is authentic Italian cuisine, homemade pastas, fresh seafood, chicken, and veal options. The food is just exceptional, some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The ambiance is very simple but classy, feels like an old-world trattoria. The service was top notch, our server guided us through the menu recommending some of the dishes that he enjoyed and the ones that were best sellers. The wine list had a great selection that accommodated your price range. I highly recommend Positano, I will definitely be a return customer.

Made reservations to sit on the patio since it was 80 degrees out. When we arrived we realized the patio was still enclosed so we opted to sit at the bar since happy hour was still happening instead. Was treated right away, staff was very friendly. Service was quick and attentive. Food was delicious. The breading and sauce with the baked clams was phenomenal, I highly recommend. Calamari's and meatball polenta were also delicious. Pizza could have used more sauce but was also good. Never ended up ordering any entrees because my husband and I were beyond stuff but definitely plan on coming back!

This Family Owned and Managed Establishment Treats You Like Family. The Food Was Great and the Service Was High-end and personal! The food, the service, the ambiance were all wonderful. Our server was very attentive. We each had The Godfather Old Fashioned and I tried the Grigliato Misto and my date had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both dishes were excellent, the fish was butter soft. Perfect restaurant to go to before a show.

V and I were celebrating my birthday and selected Positano Ristorante based on reviews and ambiance. I'm happy to report, that the restaurant was a hit on all points. Regarding the ambiance, it's a busy restaurant, yet felt cozy in a way, and the individual table lamps added a nice touch. We had reservations for Friday at 7:30, we arrived at 7:38 and found four couples/groups ahead of us. It took at most 15 minutes to be seated. It was interesting to note that anyone without reservations was being told they'd have to wait until those with reservations were seated, as it should be. We did have the option of sitting immediately in their heated outdoor space but opted to wait. Once seated, warm bread with tasty olive oil and grated parm arrived, and soon after our waiter. Throughout our visit, the waiter was attentive and helpful. One couldn't ask for more. We started with chocolate martinis which were not only tasty but contained clearly alcohol. Sometimes you wonder, but no wondering here :) We ordered Grigliato Misto which is shrimp, octopus, and calamari over mixed greens. It was an excellent change from our typical selection of fried calamari. It was perfect. The proportion size would have been fine for three people, but we polished it off. For our main course, I ordered Veal Marsala while V ordered another Veal dish which I believe was a special. Both were similarly prepared, though his was a bit sweeter, mine a bit more savory. Both were a delight. The owner stopped by near the end of our meal to see how everything was. He also seated us, so it was great to see the owner involved and taking an interest in the customer experience. We had no issues with carrying on a conversation, just a matter of focusing. I did cheat and use my phone flashlight to read the menu LOL. I like the lighting and ambiance but my eyes needed a bit of help.

After visiting again, I wanted to update my review. I think they worked out their kinks, which is great! I said I wouldn't swear this place off again, and I didn't! Friends and I went on a Friday night, with a reservation of course. We were seated right away on our scheduled time, and service was prompt and friendly. Our waiter was experienced and had a lot of knowledge of the food and drinks. He was able to answer our questions and provide us with feedback that we could use to make our selection. The food was quick and service was prompt. We had a larger party, and that did not seem to affect the waiter, which is great. Managers walked around asking about our time, etc. I was very happy that I came back. This will be on the regular rotation.

I was surprised, pleasantly surprised by this place located on a strip mall. Met a friend for dinner, we choose this place because is located in between l, a middle point to gather. Had a old fashion at the bar area. Inviting space, good cocktails. The food was excellent and plenty. We ordered one appetizer and one entree to share (see below for description)Both choices were fantastic and portions huge. We both took leftovers. The place was jumping on Thursday, very popular for good reasons. POLPETTE CON POLENTA - Three home made meatballs served over creamy polenta topped with tomato basil sauce and shaved parmigiano And POLLO PARMIGIANA 24 - Roasted chicken breasts lightly breaded, topped with mozzarella and parmesan, in a tomato basil sauce served with a side of linguini pasta

Buon appetito! Did you know that in Oak Brook, there is a hidden gem called Positano? Italian food is my FAVORITE and I'm so glad that I finally got to stop here and try their cuisine. They have very high ratings on multiple websites and their food and service totally delivered! What I tried: Calamari Chilean Sea Bass Apple Crostata Old Fashioned The star of the show was the Apple Crostata! It wasn't overly sweet, the Carmel and apple were so good! The dough didn't taste refrigerated which is always something I can always pick up on. I loved the Chilean Seabass, but did have to add additional salt and pepper and I added some grated Parmesan cheese as well; it was perfect after that. Also, the red pasta wasn't spicy! Our waitress was so sweet and professional. She spoke highly of the food, and I could tell that her suggestions and opinions came from a genuine place, and not just because she worked there. Go, check them out and tell them that planes and plates sent you! Enjoy!

Words can really describe how happy I am to have gone here. The menu is a bit deceiving for us gluten free folks, it says gluten free pasta available upon request but I am happy to report they can make almost the whole menu aside from pizza - gluten free! When I say I almost cried hearing this - it is the truth. We started with gluten free bruschetta and bread for the table. Plus caprese. DELICOUS. I had the Limone Pollo (chicken piccata) and it was FANTASTIC. I tried my sister's gluten free dishes as well. The Positano Pollo was also amazing. We finished the evening off with espresso and gf chocolate cake.
